7th Floor: Conference Room (Original)

This post is a part of a series:
7th Floor: Hidden Walkway above Staff Room
If you haven’t done so, please view it first so that you’ll be able to keep track of our adventures in chronological order.

This is the Conference Room. Not much is needed to comprehend what is shown in the picture below. If you hadn’t noticed this room during your (supposed) walking up of the stairs to the 7th floor, be it CCA (ODAC) or other reasons, now’s the time to take a good look at the pictures below since it’s a good learning opportunity.
(Yes, and risk-free too.)

[Above: Sign on top says “Conference Room”, if it isn’t already obvious enough.]

Upon entering the room, I quickly turned back to see if anyone was following me. The result was me taking this picture. As you can see, no one was following me. If there were, I probably would have missed it, and that is a trivial matter.

[Left: View of the door, from the inside of the room.
[Right: A bag with some wires on the ground]

Generic View of the whole room

Feeling safe, I shifted my view towards the rest of the room. This place is surprising tidy. It is also well furnished, unlike the classrooms provided by the school, where missing table legs and broken chairs are the norm.

(The reliability of the statement above can be proven correct by visiting the Special Rooms located at Level 2, at the desolate, trench of an area. You will not be able to miss them since they are stacked and clustered together. If you’re lucky, you might spot dust mountains forming.)

Special Highlight #1

There seems to be a table conveniently placed next to the entrance. Full of clutter and dust apparently. Dusty book caught my attention.

A book found on a table next to the left side of the entrance.
Too dusty, didn’t want to open it. Deal with it.

I know you are upset, but don’t be.
The slideshow below consists of some interesting finds.
Unfortunately, they might only seem interesting to me.

Coffee Table

I was brimming with curiosity due to the antiquity of the room. I started analyzing the next table in question. I will now on refer to this as Toffee Cable “Coffee Table”.

Dining table (the one beside bookshelf)

Next to the coffee table, there is a dining table which seems to have been “converted” to a resting place for old documents. Some date back to the 90s. Honestly, I would rather buy binders file to file them all than a 10-seater table to hold them all. Who am I to judge if the table does a better job than the file?

Other half of the room divided by Bookshelf

Behind the bookshelf, there is actually another table and a whiteboard. I suppose the white, oval shaped object is a table. At least it looks like one. I think it is where all the brothers gather to have fun pray, judging from the Catholic cross on the top left corner of the whiteboard. You can see the cross if you look closely.

Special Highlight #2

The room appears to be in a shabby condition, due to the lack of maintenance. I probably would sue the contractors for jerry-building.

Close-up view of the cupboard. Even the ceiling has a hole in it. (Beside the lights)
Just like how the school needs funds and the ceiling needs repair.

money to repair

Kitchen

This is the Kitchen where Bro. Anthony supposedly used in the past. It is dusty and looks more like a storeroom, suggesting that this place hasn’t been touched in years. It probably hasn’t even got past the renovation stage, since kitchen looks half-baked and incomplete.

Contents On Bookshelf

Despite staying in a danger zone for a long time, my precognition clairvoyance mom 6th sense gave me a strong feeling that will be not be any imminent trouble/danger, hence I briefly scanned the bookshelf before I ended my reconnaissance. In a follow up post, I will have more photos of the contents on the bookshelf.

Special Highlight #3

The shelf contains many interesting finds, like how the school used to purchase Windows products, instead of the Apple they're so proud of using.

Outdated IT guidebooks. Windows Vista user guide spotted ⊙_⊙
Possibly more than 8 years of age. Weren’t all of the computers in the school made by Apple?

Question time!

Can Source B prove A wrong if they contradict each other?

It will be written according to a certain particular standard, not the conventional style
We follow the LORM scheme: Legitimate, Obvious, Righteous and Misguided points

Any similarities between any people or animals living or dead is purely coincidental.

Source A: The entire chunk of text + pictures above.

Source A legitimately tells me that the conference room must be where Bro. Tan spent the school funds on. I can obviously infer that this room is his personal space as his name card is left on the coffee table along with some documents. I am certain he righteously used the room to hold meetings with the rest of the staff to decide the future of the school. Some of the meetings would include CCA budget cuts, Mahjong gatherings and siphoning of money.
Legitimately, the oldest document found in the room shown by Source A dates back to the 1980s and before, which is evidence that the room holds relics of the past before he became Principal. The documents might also include how much money the school coffer contains and past records of audits. Obviously, the conference room is used to hold meetings and it used to be where the past principals lived. Based on the photos shown in Source A, the room appears to be well furnished. I believe Bro. Tan had righteously prayed in the room during the bleakest moment of his life. However, the furnishing of the room could be the answer to the Million Dollar Question: “Where the heck did the money go?” In general, the students were fed with false propaganda and were hence misinformed. Source A has hidden motive to reveal the evidence behind the scenes. Hence Source A has a justifiable critical tone against this room.

Source B “legitimately” hints to me that Bro. Tan is a man of good character that would not misappropriate the school funds. Source B mentions “Yes he may have embezzled school funds but who are you to judge him?”, shows that this source is defensive in nature. Obviously, Source B was written by a student during the time when Bro. Tan was still the principal. The student would have liked Bro. Tan a lot, as he came into his defense when Bro. Tan’s actions came under flak online. However, the publisher of the source tried to be righteous by defending Bro.Tan. He brought up his good character. However, the judge in the Supreme Court still has every right to judge Bro. Tan’s actions!  The writer blatantly assumes that due to Bro.Tan’s good character, he is definitely a good person. Legitimately, Source B deduces that all the keyboard activists were not enrolled in the school during Bro.Tan’s time to know his good character. It is self-explanatory as Source B rebuts, “Moreover you probably weren't a student here yet when he was the principal life isn't one sided don't be so judgemental.”[sic] In general, his deduction is righteous, as I too, believe that no students with a pair of functioning brains would ever want to enroll in a shack in the woods, on top of a hill.  This is a very shallow mindset as not every student is fortunate enough to enroll in a dilapidated building. One needs to empathize with those who appealed to gain admission to a shack in the woods, located on top of a hill.

In conclusion, Source B cannot prove Source A wrong despite they contradict each other. Although Bro. Tan has a good character (shown in Source B), one cannot generalize the criticism against him is one sided based on one’s own judgement. The common assumption of him appears to be too simplistic in nature and one must assess the situation from the criticizers’ point of view. The blatant truth is that he misused the funds.

L6/8. 2 sided evaluation with reference to provenance and tone of the sources. Detailed analysis of each sources’ personal agenda and biases despite having no connections. Good job! At first i was reluctant to give you full marks, but due to your detailed analysis, i stopped myself from giving you an f9!

Without reiteration, I strongly feel that THE OXFORD COMMA IS SUPERIOR!
